JAMES ALFORD

James is in charge of ChargeAM’s Research & Development and technical direction. He manages the technical team focusing on the mechanical and functional management of ChargeAM’s hardware.

Highlights of his experience include the following:

• James began his career at Ford Motor Company where he quickly rose to the lead global engineering team. He left Ford and joined The Mercedes Formula One Team and successfully led the supply chain to deliver high performance, specialised components for motorsport and hypercar applications.
• Seeking new challenges, he moved into the software space and successfully redesigned customer operations to integrate and launch an innovative software product into national last mile delivery organisations reducing headcount and delivery fleet size.
• More recently James has been leading the design, build and operations of the first European autonomous and electric commercial vehicle terminal focussed on serving the moving goods sector.
